DAILY COURIER – The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has endorsed his Lagos State counterpart, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for a second term in office.

 

The aggrieved governor dumped Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, the Lagos State gubernatorial candidate of his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to endorse Sanwo-Olu.

 

This was disclosed by Sanwo-Olu’s Chief Press Secretary, Gboyega Akosile, in a terse statement on Tuesday.

 

“Breaking: Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike endorses Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the second term in office. Details later”, Akosile wrote.

 

DAILY COURIER earlier reported that Wike, former Ekiti State governors, Ayodele Fayose, and Kayode Fayemi on Tuesday joined other dignitaries at the ongoing 22nd National Women’s Conference (NWC), in Lagos.

 

The event, held at the Convention Centre, Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, is organised by the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO).

 

Meanwhile, Wike has also on behalf of Rivers State Women supported COWLSO with the sum of Three Hundred million naira.
