Daily Courier – Come Tuesday, 15th February 2022, the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) will unveil the socio economic impact that the year’s climate may have on various sectors and ways to mitigate any adverse effect that may arise.

The expose will be done during the presentation of NiMet’s annual Seasonal Climate Prediction (SCP) to the nation scheduled to hold 15th February 2022.

In a statement issued at the weekend, the Director-General, NiMet, Prof Mansur Matazu said the theme of this year is “Strengthening Climate Actions Through Timely And Impact-Based Climate Prediction For Economic Recovery”.

Prof Matazu added that the event which will take place at the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Conference Center, Kado, Abuja and will have the minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika as the Special Guest of Honour and will commence at 10 am.

Stakeholders from across all sectors of the economy are expected to attend the event as it promises to be more impactful with some innovations to how the document is presented.

Matazu re-emphasised the purpose of the presentation which has to do with unveiling the socio economic impact that the year’s

climate may have on various sectors and ways to mitigate any adverse effect that may follow.
