Daily Courier – Raheem Sterling has decided to leave Manchester City for Chelsea, with personal terms agreed and a confirmation of a fee struck between the clubs expected to follow.

“A deal – understood to be in upwards of £45million – is due to be finalised within 24 hours and Thomas Tuchel is hoping the England international will fly out with the squad this Saturday for their pre-season tour of the United States.

“The manager’s vision for Sterling and the significant role he’d contribute at Stamford Bridge was central to the decision.

“Tuchel mapped out that he views the forward as a leader, as well as a decisive edge in the final third and a reference point for the younger members of Chelsea’s squad.

“Sterling’s discussions with City have been transparent and respectful, with Pep Guardiola happy to sanction his desire to depart for greater playing time given his consistent excellence over the past seven years.

“He picked up four titles, five League Cups plus an FA Cup and exits the club on good terms.”
