Daily Courier – The Kano State Police Command have arrested a notorious vehicle thief, Ibrahim Usman, 34, and his accomplice for allegedly stealing a Toyota Hilux motor vehicle in the state metropolis.

The suspect, who hails from the Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna State, was intercepted by the team of Puff Adder of the command led by SP Rabi’u Ahmed while on routine patrol along BUK Road Kano.

The Public Relations Officer of the Command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said further interrogation of the suspect also led to the arrest of his accomplice, Hamisu Ibrahim,55, who specializes in making master keys for the criminals, and that 29 keys were recovered from his possession.

He explained that based on preliminary investigation, the suspect confessed to have stolen the said Toyota Hilux at Madobi Road, Kumbotso LGA Kano State.

According to him, the suspect belongs to a notorious syndicate that specialized in car theft terrorising owners of vehicles in different parts of the State.

“Twenty Nine (29) keys were found in his possession and nine (9) pairs of Motor Vehicles plate numbers were recovered,” he added.

He said anyone whose vehicle was stolen should report at the Public Relations Department, Bompai Police Command Headquarters, Kano or contact 08105359575.

The Commissioner of Police called on the good people of the State to take proper care of their properties, while investigation is on to arrest the suspect’s accomplices.
