Daily Courier – A US based cleric and presidential aspirant of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Nicholas Felix has boasted that he is the candidate to beat in the forthcoming election.

He said, the opposition People’s Democratic Party’s chairman will vote for him if he is given the ticket to challenge the party’s flagbearer, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

While reacting to the emergence of Atiku Abubakar as the candidate of the PDP, the US based cleric said: “First of all, I congratulate him on his emergence but for me that is an easy win. I wrote a post today that I’m going to defeat Atiku hands down. I have said it and I’m going to say it again, when I emerge even the chairman of the PDP will vote for me. I’m the only youth in the party, I have a lot to bring. I’m not just saying I should be elected because I’m a youth. I have been campaigning on insecurity, it is my number one agenda, it is my number two agenda and it is my number three, agenda. And that is what Nigerians are yearning for, I believe I have a lot to bring to the table.

Grilled if the question of consensus candidate or stepping down from the race was asked in course of the screening, Nicholas spoke on the contrary.

“Like I said, I don’t have issues with consensus but I have to know who I am stepping down for. But I believe others should be stepping down for me. I’m the youngest aspirant in the party, I am bringing a lot to the table and Nigerians are yearning for youth. I don’t have any issues with that, we are here to work with the party.

“The question was asked but it wasn’t such an issue, I just answered that I will support it but we are still all campaigning, I still campaigned in the field this week” Felix said.

Asked if he signed the enclosed withdrawal letter in the nomination forms, Felix said: “I didn’t sign any document. Why will I sign when the race has not started. Like I said, I wasn’t pressured to sign and whoever emerges we will rally round to ensure that the person wins.”
