Daily Courier – The governor of Ekiti state, Dr John Kayode Fayemi has congratulated the people of Ekiti State for electing Mr. Biodun Oyebanji at the governorship election held across the state on June 18, 2022

Fayemi while on a celebratory visit to the Ikogosi Ekiti home of the governor elect in the company of Kebbi and Jigawa states governors: Senator Abubakar Atiku and Abubakar Badaru called the victory, historic.

“With profound gratitude and great humility, I acknowledge the commitment of my fellow progressives and the good people of Ekiti State who have kept faith with us. This struggle has never been about Kayode Fayemi and Abiodun Oyebanji. It has been about you and the corporate sovereignty of Ekiti people.

“You have reflected what Ekiti history teaches us from the period of our ancestors about the courage of conviction with dogged determination within the ambits of the law and reward for diligent and meritorious leadership. Your choice and your voice have triumphed. At last, history is made” he maintained.

Fayemi congratulated Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, on his victory at Saturday’s governorship election, as well as the leadership and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, progressives governors and the Campaign Council for the victory.

On the governor elect, he said: “Mr. Oyebanji is irrevocably committed to the Ekiti project. I have no doubt that the new Governor-elect will serve Ekiti people diligently, and create opportunities for other young people to aspire to and attain great heights.”

He thanked the good people of Ekiti State for their display of civility throughout the electioneering period and INEC for the various innovations that made the election seamless and credible.
