Daily Courier – The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has predicted severe heat in parts of Nigeria.

In its high-impact weather forecast released on Sunday, NiMeT said parts of Kebbi, Sokoto, Katsina, Kano, Dutse, Bauchi, Nguru, and Borno indicate chances of experiencing high thermal discomfort.

The forecast added that most parts of the Northern cities are expected to record temperatures between 35°C to 40°C.

However, parts of Kebbi, Sokoto, Zamfara, Katsina, Kano, Jigawa, Bauchi, Gombe, Yobe, and Borno are expected to experience temperatures greater than 40°C.

“Parts of Enugu and Ebonyi are also expected to record temperatures between 35°C to 40°C,” NiMeT said.

Also on Monday May 16, it said parts of Kebbi, Sokoto, Zamfara, Katsina, Kano, Jigawa, Bauchi, Gombe, Yobe, Niger, and Borno are expected to experience temperatures greater than 40°C.

NiMet added that while parts of Niger, Kaduna, FCT, Kwara, Kogi, Benue, Taraba, and Adamawa are expected to record temperatures between 35°C to 40°C, parts of Enugu, Ebonyi, and Cross River will record temperatures between 35°C to 40°C.
