DAILY COURIER – Elections in wards 4, 6 and 18 in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state have been postponed till tomorrow Sunday, February 26 due to breakdown of law and order.

 

According to Prof. Mahmood Yakubu disclosed that a breakdown of the peace which was contained late this afternoon led to apprehensions among INEC adhoc staff.

 

The three wards have a total of 141 PUs hence the postponement of polls for the presidential, senatorial and house of representatives elections till tomorrow to allow eligible voters perform their civil franchise.

 

The chairman also reported lost of three more BVAS machines due to insecurity in Ayamilu in Anambra.

 

In other reported incidences, Lagos had disruptions in Okota, Mafoluku, Ikate, and Elegushi with late commencement of voting. In Imo distortion due to thuggery and other insecurity in seven local governments were record but according to the chairman normalcy has been restored Kebbi and Abia as well had election day disruptions.

 

Esan North, South and Egueben A federal constituency in Edo state where the logo of a political party who is on the ballot paper is missing on the result sheet prompting INEC to reprint and election to hold after two weeks.
