Daily Courier – There has been a major upset in Kwara State with Mallam Saliu Mustapha defeating the incumbent Senator for Kwara Central, Ibrahim Oloriegbe.

Mustapha, a former All Progressives Congress (APC) national chairmanship aspirant and the Turaki of Ilorin polled 168 votes with his closest challenger Yahaya Seriki getting 67 votes.

Senator Oloriegbe who is the chairman Senate committee on health got 15 votes to come third

In Kwara north, the incumbent senator,Suleiman Sodiq Umar scored 202 votes to coast home to victory while his rival, Hon.Tauheed Daudu Toyin scored 75 votes.

The senator representing Kwara South, Architect Issa Lọla Ashiru, polled 158 votes to beat his opponent, Hon. Raheem Ajulọopin who scored 154 votes.
