DAILY COURIER – The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), on Sunday described the implementation of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) cash policy as a disaster.

 

President of CBCN, Most Rev. Lucius Iwejuru Ugorji lamented that the policy which had caused a cash crunch, had added to the ordeal, anger and frustration of the masses.

 

Ugorji spoke at the opening session of the 2023 First Plenary Assembly of CBCN held at the Catholic Secretariat in Abuja.

 

While expressing sadness over the situation, he said it seemed the Federal Government was overwhelmed with the crisis and the insecurity in the country.

 

He urged Nigerians to vote wisely in the forthcoming general elections.
