DAILY COURIER – All Progressives Congress, APC governorship candidate in Abia state, Chief Ikechi Emenike is optimistic the party will win the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state, thanks in part to the poor performance of the incumbent.

The gubernatorial candidate gave this assurances today, Tuesday November 8, during a visit to the national chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu.

While reacting to the development in the opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP where five governors including Abia states’ had refused all entreaties to work for its presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. Emenike noted that the greatest asset of APC going into the election is the less than average scorecard of Ikpeazu.

He assured the party of nothing short of a resounding victory at polls come 2023.

“Our governor can be anywhere. What I want to assure you is that through his performance, he has done almost 40% campaign for the APC. And what we are doing is to harvest most of the ground and cover all the loopholes and work towards our victory. A lot people are still doubtful relying on the past propaganda and information. But before you say anything about APC Abia, visit Abia state and visit the polling units and wards then find out the status of today’s APC in Abia whether we are ready for victory or not. I assure you that we will win. We are here primarily to assure our leader, our national chairman that APC in Abia is ready to deliver the party and rescue the state. Our mission in Abia is very simple. To first rescue the state to development. And that is why we are here” Emenike said.

He dismissed the perceived popularity of Labour Party in Abia stating that the traction is an online wave without any substance on the ground.

“They are making waves on the Internet. That is why I said come to Abia. You will be able to assess foe yourself who is making impact or not. You don’t expect a party that has polling units exco on the Internet not to be making impact.

“Go to the Courts in Abia. It is an avalanche of cases against the APC. Why are they suing us? It is because they know the threat that we represent. But we are not talking about that. Like the National Chairman advised us. Power belongs to God. We are only praying and working hard for that victory. And by the grace of God it will be deliver to us in Jesus name, amen” he added.
