DAILY COURIER – Gunmen, suspected to be bandits, on Monday night, killed three persons including the village head Nyalung, Alh. Sunusi Muhammad, Chiefdom of Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State.

 

A youth leader in the community, Umar Alihu, who confirmed the attack, identified the two other victims killed during the attack as Malam Ibrahim and a three year old boy.

 

Alihu said the bandits invaded the village at about 8:30 pm and shot dead the traditional ruler and kidnapped five persons.

 

He added that the abducted victims were taken to an unknown destination, while the families and the community members are yet to establish contact with the bandits as of the time of filing this report.

 

Those kidnapped include Salamatu, Aisha, Ummi, Zainab and a baby boy.

 

Efforts to get the security agencies to confirm the attack were not successful at the time of filing this report.

 

Two village heads were killed last week in the rural communities of Butura in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.
