Daily Courier – Against the backdrop of need to improve electricity supply and renewable energy in the country the federal government has moved to partner UAE company on renewable energy.
In a statement, the AD, Press FMoP, Odutayo Oluseyi said the Minister of Power Engr. Abubakar D. Aliyu received SamPro Group, a delegation from Dubai in respect of the developmentbin Abuja.
The visit which was led by Dr. Kassim Gidado is in furtherance of an earlier discussion on renewable energy during the visit of the Hon. Minister of Power to Dubai.
Speaking during the meeting, Engr. Abubakar affirmed the commitment of the Federal Government to see that there is effective power supply for Nigerians, saying its energy transition programme is working /gearing towards renewable energy through cutting edge technology.
The group said the initiative was designed to improve electricity, which according to them fit into the mini grid policy of the Federal Government.
In his remarks, the leader of the team, Dr. Kassim Gidado promised to be committed in the engagement with the Ministry of Power.
He said “we further strongly believe in promoting the local economy by investing, employing local resources, consumption of local raw materials and delivering 100% local product to our clients” .
Technical Director SamPro Group, Dr. Salmon while presenting the company proposal stated that, to have sustainable and reliable electricity energy, additional source of energy is required.
