Daily Courier – A former governor of Lagos state and leading presidential aspirants of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, has purchased his nomination and expression of interest forms to participate in the party’s primary election slated for May 30.

Asiwaju who is still in Mecca on the lesser Hajj his supporters said will make Nigeria’s economy better the way he revamped Lagos’ economy because he is an economist not a lawyer.

Tinubu Support Group (TSG), one of the numerous support groups led by lawmaker James Faleke and former secretary to the government of the federation, David Babachir Lawal picked the former on his behalf.

Speaking to journalists after purchasing the forms, Faleke said: “We are here as a team on behalf of Bola Ahmed Tinubu to pick the form that he has personally paid for and because he is out of the country.”

Asked what is Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s chances in the presidential race, he said: “He is the only candidate that we know.”

Lawal on the other hand called him a branded product which is known to all Nigerians for his sterling qualities.

“Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a branded product. Every Nigerian knows that he is the man to beat, and I can assure you the president come May 29, 2023 is Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“If we are not sure we stand a chance to win this election we would not waste our 100 million naira. Everybody who puts his 100 million naira is for him to win. As far as we are concerned we are going ahead with the political requirements, the campaigning and we are going for the election” Lawal added.

On the mode of primary, Faleke noted that: “It is the party that has the authority to decide on the mode of primary, it is not in our purview to do that. As far as we are concerned whether direct or indirect we will win the election by the grace of God.”

“Asiwaju at the appropriate time will deliver his address to us but know that this country under Asiwaju will be better, the economy will be better because he is an economist not a lawyer. He will deal with the economy, he did it in Lagos. Majority of the challenges in Lagos were surmounted by him.

“He is a man who rewards loyalty. He will ensure people who work will be taken care of; employment opportunities are better off; and the issue of insecurity will remain a thing of the past. The civil service in Lagos was reformed, he will do it again in Nigeria. Just give him time when he comes back he will address the press” he concluded.
