DAILY COURIER – All Progressives Congress Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has hinted how he urged President Muhammadu Buhari to reconsider some of his economic policies that are worsening the plight of the masses.

Tinubu in a meeting with monarchs in Osogbo on Thursday February 2, said in Yoruba, “I told Buhari that he is being led astray considering the impact of some of his policies on the masses.”

Earlier he assured them that he is not leaving anything to chances which explains his nationwide mobilization. He bemoaned those he termed enemies within for misinforming people about his good plans if elected.

Later at the campaign ground, he pitched his message of Renewed Hope to Osun State where he assured the people and party supporters of his commitment to create jobs for the unemployed and make credit available for business owners.

Speaking in Yoruba to a mammoth crowd of people who thronged the venue of the campaign rally at Freedom Park Osogbo, Tinubu said his administration would empower the people with the skill that will make them employable while ensuring that the youth will no longer spend years in university due to lecturers’ strike action, stating that his pledge to the people will remain a biding covenant.

“I make a social covenant with you today that the unemployed among you will get job. Those with no skill will be provided the relevant skill that would put food on their table. When we get to government, we will make soft loans available for market women and business owners.”

Taking a swipe at the current Peoples Democratic Party government of Governor Ademola Adeleke in Osun State for poor governance of the state, the APC presidential candidate charged the people that APC administration will soon return to continue the good work.

“They were given a little opportunity to rule for some months and they started misbehaving, killing and creating unrest in Osun state.”

From his prepared speech which he didn’t get the time to read, Asiwaju Tinubu congratulated Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola, who was declared winner by the governorship election petition tribunal.

He praised Oyetola’s tenacity, diligence, consistency and determination, which made him not to give up until he got his stolen mandate back.

On his plans for Osun, Tinubu noted that the state, which is highly blessed with diverse resources, should be a destination for business and tourism across the country, promising to help achieve this if he becomes the president.

He said, “Osun is a beautiful state filled with virtuous, industrious and welcoming people. We will support Osun to become a manufacturing, industrial, agricultural and tourism paradise.

“You have fertile soil, abundant mineral resources, and a rich culture and history capable of attracting tourists from across the world.

“A vote for me is a vote to develop all parts of this state and this country. Rural areas will not be forgotten but will be developed to support more economic activities and create better lives for the people.

Buhari In Total Support Of Tinubu – Lai

Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said President Muhammadu Buhari is in total support of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, in the forthcoming election.

The minister made this clarification on Thursday in Abuja at the 22nd edition of the PMB Administration Scorecard Series (2015-2023), organised to project the achievements of the Buhari government.

He said his comment that “the President is committed to a free, fair and credible elections, and that he is doing everything possible to ensure a level-playing field for all contestants”, was misinterpreted by some sections of the media.

“Yesterday, while reacting to a question at the post-Federal Executive Council briefing at the State House, I said, inter alia, that Mr. President is committed to a free, fair and credible elections.

“This comment has been misinterpreted in some circles, especially with regards to Mr. President’s support for the presidential candidate of our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“I want to say, unequivocally, that Mr. President is in total support of our party’s flag bearer, and that is attested to by his continuing campaign with the candidate across the country.

“It is preposterous to even suggest that Mr. President, who is the leader of our party, is equivocating on his support for our presidential candidate.

“I hope this clears any ambiguity that may have arisen from my statement yesterday,” he said.

Tinubu is pro-masses, a true friend of Nigeria and Nigerians – Bankole

A member of the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Honourable Tolu Bankole has hailed Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as patriot who is more interested in the wellbeing of the masses than being politically correct.

The Chieftain in a press release noted that “Loving your country may put you in opposition to those who run it. The strong position expressed by our party’s Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a show of commitment to a better Nigeria and her endless possibilities.

“True patriotism implies a deep love for one’s country that not only desires the best for one’s fellow countrymen but also demands that the country should pursue its aims with honesty and empathy.

“He has displayed an ineffable love unequalled in the political history of the world. Asiwaju chose to empathize with the masses that have been subjected to untold hardship. The easier option by most party faithfuls would be to say yes or maintain silence to all government programs no matter how discomforting for political correctness. The ability to confront and speak out against some policies of government considered to be anti masses by Asiwaju BAT should be applauded by all.

“Selflessness is exhibited at the most critical moment. Tinubu is not desperate to be President.

“No one puts it better than leadership expert, Jim Rohn when he said: “The challenge of leadership is to be strong, but not rude; be kind, but not weak; be bold, but not a bully; be thoughtful, but not lazy; be humble, but not timid; have humour but without folly”. In the face of the unabating artificial queues nationwide in fuel stations and regrettably at bank ATMs across the country for Nigerians to withdraw their hard earned money; Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has demonstrated the rarest of leadership qualities which is empathy.”

Patriot never keep mute in situations where masses are suffering and traumatised.

This singular act of Tinubu, even at this critical stage of our political experience is a clear testimony of his unparalleled leadership.

“It is therefore obvious that Tinubu is pro-masses and a true friend of Nigeria and Nigerians.

“Tinubu Presidency will indeed be Pro-masses, prosperous and progressive.

“Therefore, I want to appeal to all electorates in the forthcoming February 25th Presidential election to cast their votes for TINUBU/SHETTIMA because Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is Nigeria’s next president.

“This demonstration of pure heart, love for Nigerians and commitment to improve welfare and well-being of all Nigerians will drive his Renewed Hope agenda to tame insecurity; tackle unemployment and turn the economy around for shared prosperity” he said.
