DAILY COURIER – The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) may unveil the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) after wider consultations on Friday in Abuja, DAILY COURIER reports.

A closed-door meeting to fine tune the list held at the National Secretariat of the party on Tuesday.

In attendance at the meeting, which lasted for over two hours, were the National Chairman Senator Abdullahi Adamu; the National Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore; the Director General of the PCC, Gov. Simon Lalong; Deputy Director General (Operations) Comrade Adams Oshiomole and the Council Secretary, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, with two other unidentified persons from the PCC.

Lalong and Faleke arrived the party Secretariat together while Oshiomhole joined them later.

Before their arrival, the APC National Chairman was in a meeting with Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola.

None of the attendees offered to speak to newsmen after the meeting.

The Director-General of the Council simply said he was on a private visit to the Secretariat and headed straight for his car.

Though the agenda of the meeting was not made known, a source at the meeting told our correspondent in confidence that the meeting essentially looked into the final list of the PCC and the nationwide campaign itinerary.

“The PCC leadership came to formally dot the ‘i’s and cross the ‘t’s with the party leadership in preparation for the formal unveiling of the PCC list on Friday. The meeting also gave the two principal organs of the party the opportunity to look into the nationwide campaign plan.”

Our source further said: “it was agreed that the Chairman will brief the National Working Committee (NWC) at its weekly meeting tomorrow (Wednesday) on the list and the campaign itinerary, while it was also agreed that the National Chairman, Secretary and the leadership of the PCC will present the same to President Muhammadu Buhari for his blessing tomorrow at the Villa.

“Barring last minute change, the PCC will be formally unveiled on Friday while the date for the commencement of the campaign will be determined after the meeting with the President.”

Recall that the composition of the PCC had generated ill feeling between the chairman of the party, Abdullahi Adamu and the presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu in a leaked letter which has led to several high powered meetings to correct perceived omissions.
