DAILY COURIER – Five aggrieved Governors (G-5) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a self-styled integrity group, have again travelled to the United Kingdom.

Led by Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, the group left the country for London on Monday, via the Port Harcourt International Airport for another strategic meeting.

Other members of the group include Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), Samuel Ortom (Benue), Seyi Makinde (Oyo) and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu).

A source close to Government House, Port Harcourt, who confirmed that all five Governors made the trip to London, said they would be back in Nigeria on December 30.

The G-5 Governors have called for the resignation of the PDP’s National Chairman, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, as a condition for peace in the party and to join the Presidential Campaign Council of the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

The aggrieved Governors have insisted that it was unfair for the party to have the National Chairman and presidential candidate from the north.

Last week, Wike said he would reveal the presidential candidate to mobilise votes for in the forthcoming 2023 general elections in January.
