Daily Courier – Former President of the Senate and PDP presidential aspirant Dr Bukola Saraki on Monday wooed FCT State PDP delegates with numerous promises ahead of the May 28 and May 29 presidential primary election of the party.

Speaking during an interface with PDP FCT delegates, the former senate president urged the 41 delegates of the party to cast a bulk vote for a North Central aspirant.

He said that the zone which incidentally is the seat of power has not produced any democratically elected occupant of the Presidential Villa adding that his government will change the fortunes of indigenes of FCT.

“We have come together to say, it is a time for North Central. This is not just my own, all of us will be making history, it has never happened before. Our children will continue to thank us for many generations because we made a difference. This ticket is not only my ticket, it is our ticket, all of us shall benefit from it. And that is why the whole 41 delegates here, not one should go anywhere because this is your own. We will tell them in the past, North Central has worked for other people, It’s time for them now to work for us. After they have worked for us this time, then we can talk about working for them again. This is for us. It is not for just me, It’s for all of us”.

Speaking further, Saraki charged the delegates to look inward at all the aspirants to see who has the antecedent and capacity to lead the country not just anyone.

“Today where Nigeria is you cannot play with the 2023 election, you cannot just choose anybody. The country is in a very fragile position, if you don’t put the right person there something is going to happen to Nigeria. Today in Nigeria, unfortunately, you have the highest record of children who are not going to school, Nigeria has the highest record of unemployment and poverty.

“We must find a president that knows how to rescue Nigeria. We must look at all of us and measure our capacity who can unite Nigeria, and in doing that we have to check our records of who has brought people together”.

He said that Nigeria needs someone that can bring cooperation, collaboration, and bring people together.

He noted that the president Nigeria needs must be somebody who knows the south where one can feel comfortable that a competent leader is leading the country.

The former lawmaker also promised to unite the young and the and the old if elected as president of Nigeria come 2023.

Responding Chairman of PDP in the FCT, Hon Zaka Sunday commended the aspirants for his outstanding profile. He said that the FCT will do the needful to ensure that he becomes the Presidential Candidate of the party.

Daily Courier reports members of House of Representatives, Hon. Micah Jiba and Alhaji Hassan Sokodabo, Kuje area council chairman Abdullahi Suleiman Sabo were present at the meeting.
