In Lagos, the Convener of Lagos4Lagos Movement, Abudul Azeez Olajide Adediran, popularly known as ‘Jandor’, has emerged the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State.

Jandor defeated his opponent, Dakova Kolawole with 679 votes out of the 709 accredited delegates, while Kolawole pulled 20 votes with 10 void votes.

Speaking after the declaration of the result, Jandor thanked all the contestants and said all of them are qualified to be governor of Lagos State.

He promised to use the ticket to unite Lagos PDP to win the state for the party. He noted that he is going to carry the PDP flag with pride. He noted that the ticket will produce the first independent governor of Lagos.

Elsewhere, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) of Sokoto State, Mallam Sa’idu Umar (Mallam Ubandoman Sokoto) has emerged as the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial flag bearer in the state.

In the same token, the former Commissioner for Environment in the state, Hon. Sagir Bafarawa, who also took a shot at the position will now be the running mate of Alhaji Umar.

In the exercise superintended by Dr Tom Zakari from the party’s national headquarters, Alhaji Umar polled 695 votes of the total 755 delegates.

Speaking at the occasion held at the at international Conference Centre, Kasarawa, Gov. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal thanked the delegates for a smooth conduct of the exercise right from state assembly, National assembly ta the governorship primaries.

He commended the members and leaders of the PDP in the state for their patriotism and loyalty in all of the process, assuring that he would work assiduously in order to ensure that the party win all the seats in the forthcoming general elections in 2023.

He also commended the officials that came from national headquarters of the PDP and staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), who conducted and monitored the exercise respectively.

In Yobe state, Alhaji Shariff Abdullahi beat two other candidates to emerge victorious as (PDP) gubernatorial candidate in Yobe State.

The breakdown of the votes showed that Dr. Ali Adamu Tikau scored 129, Abba Gana Tata got 109, while Alhaji Sheriff Abdullahi polled 295 to emerge winner of the contest.
