DAILY COURIER – Nigeria Computer Society led by its National President, Prof. Adesina Simon Sodiya, FNCS paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of the National Population Commission, Hon. Nasir Isa Kwarra, at the Commission’s Headquarters, Abuja.

 

The NPC Chairman appreciated the team for being vanguards of census and laudable perspectives to assist the Commission on technology to achieve high-quality and credible census data for national planning.

 

The visit according to report is to collaborate and support the NPC to conduct the first digital housing and population census in Nigeria.

 

The society urged the incoming administration to sustain the gains and preparations by President Buhari-led administration towards the actualization of the first-ever digital census in Nigeria.

 

President Muhammadu Buhari postponed the census after several meetings with stakeholders in late April.

 

The government said the incoming administration of President-Elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will decide on the date the exercise will hold.

 

The NPC, after the official announcement of the postponement, told reporters the exercise was postponed to calm tension in the country.
