Daily Courier – The immediate past minister of Niger Delta affairs and presidential aspirant of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), H.E Godswill Akpabio has visited former president Olusegun Obasanjo.

In a short statement on his verified Facebook page, Akpabio wrote:

“We were at the Presidential Library, Abeokuta, Ogun State, to formally intimate former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, of my presidential ambition on Wednesday. Members of my Campaign Organization led by former FCT Minister, Dr Aliyu Modibbo, were warmly received by the former president. He prayed for my success, declaring that what Nigeria wants in 2023 is Godswill for Nigeria. I briefed him of my three point agenda of fighting insecurity, uniting the country and improving on the economy, if I am given the opportunity to govern our dear country from 2023.”

Akpabio is one of the 25 presidential aspirants jostling to stake a claim for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket in the special presidential elective convention billed for May 28-29 in Abuja.

Visits to the former president have become a part of the presidential cycle since he left office in 2007 by most aspirants across party affiliations.
